Balance

We at Business Data Challengers naturally keep a close eye on organizational developments. Naturally, we also follow the FD Gazellen Award. They are currently enjoying a lot of media attention, yesterday we heard something about it on BNR Radio. And that triggered us….

Then what was it about?

It was said that of all the fast-growing companies selected for the FD Gazellen this year, there are 10 companies for which the customer is NOT central.

You don't hear that often. Which companies are those?

I'll mention a few.
Freek Wessels, financial director at chocolate bar manufacturer Tony's Chocolonely, for example. He said that the customer comes third because the farmers who grow the cocoa and the team come first.

Kees van Bergen from Ecotap. At Ecotap they make charging stations for electric cars. And according to Kees, his own people come into the company first, then the material and then the customer third.

And what is it like with your Business Data Challengers?

With us there is no question of a first place for anything or anyone. Our philosophy does not assume different positions or layers. We want everything to be in balance; the people (our own people and the customers), the product, social responsibility, ethics and technology, knowledge – it is all important. We assume equilibrium and equilibrium. In our opinion, that is a better, if not the best, approach.

Is that feasible?

Yes, we have been proving for two years now that it can be done this way. Our philosophy is appreciated by more and more companies, both customers, partners and collaborating companies. It's a shame that we haven't been around for even three years, because then we would have registered for the FD Gazellen!

Are you going to do that next year?

According to the guidelines, a company must have existed for 3 years to participate. Just look at the guidelines for 2018.
We don't yet know what the guidelines for 2019 will be, but we will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary on September 1, 2019. So we will probably have to wait until 2020.
